Prestige Network Solves Cheshire Constabulary’s Language Headache

Berkshire-based language services company Prestige Network has recently won a contract to provide interpreting services to the busy Cheshire Constabulary, following a successful pilot project which started in June 2007.

The permanent contract means that interpreters are expected to be on location within eight hours of booking, although most interpreters have achieved two hours.

Anthony Fleming, Director of Operations for Prestige Network, said: "Under the permanent contract, we have the opportunity to continue supplying interpreters and fulfil 100% of the requirements requested. Winning the Cheshire Police contract means that we can provide valuable support to the police and to the community.

"The bookings for the police are very time-sensitive and also very involved and we are happy that we can make a significant contribution towards helping the police force in this way. Sometimes we have to book interpreters in very rare languages and at very short notice, and the sense of achievement at having fulfilled these bookings is tremendous. We hope that we will continue to be of service, not only to the Cheshire police but also to other police forces around the country."

The language service is sub-contracted to Prestige Network by Global Solutions Ltd. Paul Robertson, Global Solutions Limited General Manager, says that Prestige Network has provided great support in running the contract.

In that time they have delivered 100% success, month in month out, even hitting the ground running with a 100% performance in the first month. Prestige Network not only supply interpreters but also carry out translations and audio transcription for the police force.
