New NHS Contracts

30 November 2006

Prestige Network is proud to be the leading supplier of comprehensive language services to the public sector and it has once again proven itself to be the provider of choice for health related organisations.

The Berkshire-based company has recently been appointed to provide language and translation services for the Healthcare Commission, a contract which cements the company’s position as a major industry player.

The two year contract with the Healthcare Commission will include translations to and from European, African, Middle Eastern, Eastern and Oriental languages. These translations will involve the use of detailed, health-related language and Prestige has a wealth of experience in delivering a reliable and dependable service in this area.

The contract will also include the provision of interpreters and the Healthcare Commission will be able to draw upon Prestige’s network of highly trained associates who work across the country. Prestige will also deliver Braille, British Sign Language and Large Print services to the Healthcare Commission as well as well as audio tape, audio CDs and typesetting of translated documents.

Prestige is delighted to announce that it will also be working with the East Somerset NHS and Plymouth PCT providing face-to-face interpreting, telephone interpreting and other translation services to each of the organisations. The company has also been commissioned by Plymouth PCT to provide British Sign Language services and it is well equipped to meet this need with its bank of experienced professionals in this area.

Anthony Fleming, Prestige Network’s Director of Operations, commented: “We are aware that organisations involved in the delivery of health related services can have very specific needs when it comes to communication.

“It is not only the complex, medical terms that are used that can present a barrier to understanding; the emotional and worried state that some patients can be in will often make clear communication more challenging. With vast experience in this area, Prestige Network is able to overcome these difficulties through providing a professional, thorough and sensitive approach to any language related task.

“One of the main benefits to an organisation of having a language service provider on call is that staff know exactly where to turn when they need a translator or interpreter and we can be on-hand to provide this quickly and efficiently. We have the procedures in place so that when called upon at short notice, we can deliver a service that meets our usual high standards and we believe that this is why we continue to win contracts with major public sector bodies.

“At Prestige Network, we are proud of our ability to provide a full range of exceptional, competitively priced language services that organisations know they can depend on, providing the peace of mind that they need to let them get on with what they do best.”
