Language services company Prestige Network has launched a dedicated end-to-end service software localisation service. It means that Prestige Network will translate the material, deal with any technical issues (such as source codes, formatting and presentation) and then put through a quality assurance testing programme.
The service is designed to help companies who want their applications to be made available in different languages. It is intended for any business within the commercial sector, from dentistry, to tide timetables or broadcasting, through to the public sector - including central and local government departments, NHS, JobCentres, charities and the police.
Shawn Khorassani, Business Development Director at Prestige Network, said: "More and more people use technology on a daily basis, whether it's in their private or business lives. If you add the extra dimension of a global business marketplace created by a growth of internationalism then the possibilities for software localisation are virtually endless.
"Our flexible approach to software localisation means that we have all the tools to provide a full, end-to-end service. Our linguists will drop the translations into the string of source code and the resulting programme will be tested to ensure that the application meets the requirements of the business and its customers. Alternatively, we can work on any individual aspect enabling businesses to stretch their budget further."
As well as working in up to 200 languages, the service takes into account the cultural aspect of language. The company has 5,000 linguists on its books, providing a full UK-wide service in all languages.
The service combines the skills of Shawn, one of Prestige Networks's founders (who pursued a career in IT after obtaining a degree in Control and Systems Engineering from Huddersfield University), with the company’s 18-year extensive experience as a language services and cultural consultancy provider to both the public and commercial sectors.
